emotional rain
We're on a patch of shifting land. With the storm, came high winds and lots of rainfall. In an effort to alleviate our dire situation, she began to push aside the boat and it toppled me. I was pinned and full of frustration from her but I knew I couldn't get out alone. I cried out for her help, as I was feverishly fearful for my life, and quickly she came. In the moment she saved me, I knew... she would always be the biggest stress in my life, but eventually, she would become my savior.

I'd forgotten about the aquarium on the shelf so feeding the fish also slipped my mind. When I did remember, I found that one fish in particular conditioned himself to being able to swim around the outside of the tank, in the air. He was the best looking one of the bunch. I kept trying to cradle him delicately inside of my hands to return him to the water.

it's not the time to break down
She'd asked that I take a road trip with her. Only after we were well on our way did she inform me that she would be picking you up as well. You began talking about your past as I settled into the back seat trying not to feel like a third wheel. You kept bringing up things you and I had previously spoken about that made you angry at her but with every mention, her hand made its way closer to your shoulder. Before I knew it, I was watching you both fall in love again. I tried to concentrate on the passing scenery but the pain was too much to bear. As we pulled into the market parking lot, it began to rain. As you both stared in wonder at how to avoid the downpour, I opened the door and walked into it.

overreaction
I glanced your way from my side of the bed and our eyes met. I told you I had something to tell you and instantly you were furious. Because the room was filled with our friends, I couldn't gesture to you that it wasn't as bad as you assumed. You were seething and said something that cut me to the core. I couldn't look at you so I turned away. But the hurt instantly dissipated the moment you called me sweetheart and said everything would be okay.

lust
Last night we held hands and walked. We took a drive in your truck. I sat in your lap. I lapped your lap. Last night was incredible. Last night you were the man of my dreams.

here without you
She was on a shipwrecked vessel inside a dark room as her daughter wandered about. Every window was shut, every door was locked and I could hear her inside conversing with someone. I asked her several times to let me in so we could talk. She continually ignored my request. I found a small opening in the doorway and attempted to reason with her that if she would not let me in, at least make room for her daughter. My desperation was met with nothing-- no response. Disappointed, I gently picked up the little one and carried her away.

and she took our map of new york
We were heading back and I told you that I was reluctant to be under water, much less breathing it but it didn't matter. We had no choice. And no matter how much I cried, it changed nothing.

acceptance
As I lay there motionless, I patiently await him to appear. Once he does, I allow his hands to find their way along my bare back. I gently turn over and ask him to marry me. With an approving smile he says yes and we share a passionate kiss. Later, we are in a crowded room and he leaves my side to take with another woman. I think to myself how lucky she is; how happy she must feel for she now is the object of his affection. As I get up to leave, I'm not saddened. It's not that I want him to stop me and declare his love for me, I just simply hope that he's watching me walk away.
