a different kind of pain
July 17, 2008
I was extremely excited because for the past five days, my headaches had become almost non-existent. A few days out of the week, I had to take what I consider preventative measures (Tylenol) to keep my mild discomfort from turning into a full blown problem. This seemed to keep the intensity at bay. I was looking forward to going back to my doctor's appointment being able to confidently tell him that we've cleared up my issue and an MRI would not be necessary. Yesterday, my head began to ache full force even after I took medicine and it carried on throughout the day. It lessened after I left work and was pretty much gone when I arrived home. I figured it was just aggravated due to my staring at the computer monitor all day. But, I guess it's not that afterall, because I woke up this morning with a pounding headache and so far, Tylenol has not helped. This is really quite disturbing. Oh, sweetheart, I'm so sorry! I can relate. Just when you think things are getting better ...
I hope things improve. Headaches can be so consuming. You are on my heart and in my thoughts.

hey sweetie. i'm so sorry to hear you've been in so much pain. a thought...is it possible they're migraine-related? do you get nauseated during or just after? any visual disturbances (auras)? migraines sometimes occur with auras; sometimes not. my family is riddled with the condition...mom's were the worst. she'd be bed-ridden for days, curtains drawn (light tends to make them worse), unable to eat or sleep. my sisters, brother, and i have lesser versions of them. but they're still nasty buggers. if you haven't seen a doc yet, do, hon. there are meds you can take that may, or may not, help. there are also triggers you may be able to avoid. meanwhile, am sending you great waves o' comfort... *squeeze*

Then again, it may be stress-related.
Not that you have any stress, right?

Sorry, and hope that it clears up, but it sure sounds painful. Not good to wake up with a headache. Probably should have it checked.

Heya! You have your own domain now too? I moved over and have been playing with it. Decided to move the baby entries to this one and keep the other one for random musings.
I used to get tons of headaches too. Usually it is related to my posture. I tense up when stressed and it goes right back to the head.
Do massages or stretches help? Oddly enough once I cured my headache from doing ten push ups against a table.
Missed you!
